Boys.. gotta luv 'em!

Jack :

Jack has really been into saving and making money this year. At first I was a little worried about this, telling him that money isn't the most important thing in life - and doing good to others is better, etc.... Until I realized how much it's helping his math skills. This kid can do lots of times tables and math I never figured him doing until around the 4th grade. I'll ask him, "What's 5x6?" Without skipping a beat - "30". Seriously?! It's because he knows that nickels are 5 cents each, and if he gets 6, that's one nickel over a quarter. I guess this isn't so bad after all. He turns 6 in a few weeks and he's already 3 dollars away from saving $100. (And most jobs we give him are between $.05 and $1.00) Not too shabby if you ask me.

School is going great for him. He's reading small books, and can sound out bigger words if he decides to take the time to do so. He use to forget to turn in his homework, so I had to put a piece of yarn around his wrist so it would remind him to turn it in... but he would just take it off right when he got in anyway and still forget! Luckily I sent his teacher an email and now she asks him personally every Friday for his homework!

Jack wanted me to film him doing a workout video the other day, I was so sad because my camera died halfway through it and I lost all the footage!! It was awesome too, because he kept using terms like, "Do you feel it burn? That means it's working!" haha It was fantastic. Jack is still very contentious about eating healthy foods to keep up his energy and be stronger.

Blake:

Blake told me the other day that burping and farting is okay, because it's just your body's way of trying to whistle. Ha! This kid is always so much fun to talk to. When he gets really sad he gets the most epic sad face I have ever seen. He lays down on the ground and claims he's too tired to move when it's time to pick up, or get dressed - but manages to leap over many things and around many obstacles when going through one of Jack's 'Training Sessions'. He has started running with Jack a little bit, but still is content on observing the wonderful world around him.

He still starts most sentences with "Me want some!" Instead of 'I". Which drives Trent absolutely crazy, haha. To me it's just my way of keeping him young. But don't get me wrong, I am still working with him on changing it.. just maybe not as much a Trent. ;)

He still loves to curl up next to me, and he is so much fun to wrestle and pick on. I think that's why all of us enjoying pestering him. He has big opinions and ideas about everything. I love to see his eyes light up everyday - they have so much vision and life in them. What a fun boy!

Tyler:

Tyler has started talking up a storm! He will repeats words back to you, and you can really see his fun personality shine through. He always says, "Weeeee! That was fun!", whenever we go down a hill, big or small, in the car. And I love the way he calls my name in the morning to let me know he wants me to come and get him.... "Mommy.... Mom meeeee." He is so freakin cute.

He still smells like a sweet little baby, and so we spend every morning cuddling, playing and kissing on his adorable feet. Ty is very ticklish on his shoulders and under his chin. He loves wrestling so much, that he is almost always the instigator. He loves getting a reaction out of everyone (which is why he loves picking on Blake so much), so it's funny to watch him try to get anyone riled up.

Tyler definitely keeps us on our toes. He wants to see how everything works and why it works that way. Nothing is child proof to this kid. I love to see how his mind make sense of his world, and watch him make discoveries - although sometimes thought I catch myself saying, "Oh... yeah, that's not a good idea." while I run to grab him before bad things could happen. haha. He is so very entertaining. Another funny thing, is that this kid absolutely LOVES fish oil capsules. He would eat them like candy if we'd let him. The other day I actually noticed he started smelling like fish. :)

Trent:

He started doing P90X a few weeks ago, and has been really enjoying it. It's fun to parts with him - and it's hard not to laugh at each other, which makes it even that much more fun! He's enjoying his job, he's got good coworkers, but will work there until he doesn't feel like it's right for him anymore - then he will figure out a new passion. We both think that in life you should do something you love to do.

Also, we decided that for our 10 year anniversary we are going to Hawaii this year! Yay! We are both extremely excited. Although it will be tremendously hard for me to be away from my sweet boys for more than just one night - they will be in good fun hands with their Grandpa Dan and Grandma Carolyn. The boys love going there, and they are just wonderful - generous people.

Me:

I've decided to work on my flexibility this year and silk as much a possible - and of course, make some lasting memories with the 4 most wonderful boys in my life. They are all incredibly perfect just the way they are. <3 b="">
