The help :)

Love!

So why this little guy was being born.. the older boys got to go stay with Grandpa and Grandma in North Salt Lake. Which, they LOVED by the way! When they came home, my Mom flew up from California (who the boys call 'Grandma from California'). My Mom was such a tremendous help for me while she was here, and I am so grateful she has come each time for each of my boys.

The first time she came up to help with Jack. I am so glad she was there. She helped me in the hospital after my c-section, and also helped me become accustomed to being a mommy. And since I wasn't able to do much for myself that first week or so - she was seriously my hero. She even did laundry, dishes, and had fun putting different cute outfits on little Jack.

The second time with Blake, she eased me into being a mommy of two. Helped me take care of Jack, Blake and myself.

This third time around, with little Tye bug ~ She has been great keeping both older boys occupied, which has been a HUGE blessing. They felt special because she was spending so much time with them, and it made it easier for me to both heal and cuddle with my little newborn. Since this recovery was much easier - it worked out perfectly. I am so grateful to have such a helpful Mother!

They did so many fun things! Like make a pinata out of paper mache, nature books, crafts, and went on many bike and scooter rides. She also made all the boys fun towels - Jack's being a dog, Blake's a duck, and Tyler's a frog!

I will now leave you all with Tyler's serious, critical thinking face. No worries, I think he's already figured us all out :)

No. 8

We've owned this house for a little over 2 months. Instead of renting this house, we decided to sell it. We put it on KSL and have had some activity. Usually you need to own a house for 90 days before you can sell it, but sense the market is odd right now - they took that rule away. We were going to list it on the MLS.. but got an offer on it the day before we did. Sweet.

This house is actually really cute on the inside. The outside looks a lot better than it did before too. I tried to steal the pictures off of the appraisal, but it didn't work - so just imagine a crazy 70's looking home from the outside equip with crazy looking rocks and everything ;) .

This picture below is right before we put up the stucco.

This time I actually picked out all the tile and carpet. Ahh... More responsibility than I'd like. HAHA-jk. It was fun, and like always, it's fun to see the final outcome!

2 weeks old

Tyler is now two weeks old! Time flies when you're having fun :) . At his check up he has gained over a pound from his birth weight. He is now at 8lbs 14.5oz!! They usually want them to get to at least their birth weight... this little guy must be an overachiever! He is 90% in his height (21.5in), 30% in head circ., and 75% in weight.

There have been a few restless nights when I can tell he has quite a bit of air in his belly.. but for the most part he has been a great baby! I know colic usually rears it's fun face around 3 weeks.. so we are hoping his happiness isn't just a phase ;) . It's neat though, the look he has on his face seems to show that he knows much more than we give him credit for. He looks very wise for his age :)

It's crazy how much he already fits into our family. I love that little guy so much it's ridiculous. The boys are still doing well with the transition, and the days I have had all the boys to myself~ have gone really well so far. *Knock on wood* haha.

One crazy thing though... Tyler was born without a uvula. Odd huh? Normally if that happens, babies might also have a cleft palate.. but his is totally normal.

Welcome to the world Tyler!

On April 9, 2012 ~ Little Tyler James Livingston came into the world @10:37am, weighing 7lbs 13oz and 21 inches long.

He was born via c-section, this time it was a scheduled one. Upon arriving at the hospital, the anesthesiologist came to see us. He explained that with my first c-section the epidural only had worked because it had 22 hours to kick in. With my second c-section, it didn't have enough time to kick in.. and so the ended up do the general anesthesia. With my condition, they aren't able to give me the same medication as they normally would for a c-section, and they can't give it as fast. He gave me the option to try to keep me awake, or just put me under the general anesthesia. He recommended the general, but I really wanted to hear the first little cry of my baby.. so I wanted to at least try. And let me tell you this.. it wasn't an easy process.

Most babies can be born via c-section within 5 minutes of the first cut. It took almost an hour to get little Tyler out. Why? The anesthesia wasn't working. They gave me the medication as planned, but I could still feel... much more than I care to share. They ended up using local anesthesia.. continually injecting lidocane into my belly.. even just squirting inside occasionally. And it still hurt. But my beautiful baby boy was born with a soft deep cry letting me know it was all okay in that moment.

Even after all of that, my recovery has been much easier this time around. I was up 'taking laps' around the department the day I had him. But of course the anesthesia decided to work just in my left leg, so I looked like a gimp hobbling around. haha! But I knew I had to get myself up and moving earlier so I could come home and adequately take care of all my boys.

Life with three little boys? Little Tyler is just barely a week old, but I sure have a good idea of what life is going to be like around our home. And you know what? As crazy as it sounds, and as crazy busy as it's been.. I absolutely love it and wouldn't want it any other way. I know Tyler was suppose to be a part of our family. - And we all love him so much already, more and more every day actually - and I love it! When we first brought him home, I thought it would be the hardest transition on Blake, considering he loves his mommy's attention - and has always called himself the 'baby'. But nothing will ever let me forget how the boys reacted when they first met Tyler.

Jack came right down to him in his basket.. and gently starting stroking his belly as if he was the most delicate thing in the world. You could see Jack's protective nature, it was really neat to see. Blake got really excited and kept saying, "Baby! Baby!". He wanted to hold him right away. He has wanted to hold him ever since, many times a day. When he does hold him, he just says in his cute voice, "Hi baby. Hi baby." And sometimes he continues to tell us where his eyes and nose are. Haha. They both are excited to have their little brother here. The transition has went very smooth so far. I hope they keep seeing just how amazing this little guy really is.

Tyler has been a great baby. I just love the newborn stage, and love holding him constantly. The only time he ever really cries (which is next to nothing) is when he needs burped. Which makes sense, that would make me sad too! It was funny, because yesterday he made just a little small cry - and since he doesn't do that much, Jack asked, "What was that?" haha. A couple of nights ago he only woke up twice and went back to sleep right after he ate. Then last night only once! Hope this keeps up!

I love my little family so much. I love being in a house filled with boys, as crazy as that may sound. With each baby our house fills with more love, and it's the most incredible thing in the world to be a mommy. <3
