12 weeks

* ME at 12 weeks *

So the first part of this pregnancy has gone by fairly quick this time around.. It seems like just yesterday that we found out we were pregnant with our 2nd little one. I went in today for my 12 week appointment.. and getting to hear the little baby's heartbeat made the realization of it so much more real. There REALLY IS something in there! Yay! With this pregnancy I haven't been quite as sick as I was with Jack, even though not alot better. I have still lost weight in my first trimester and I have had to get IV fluids 3 times. It's funny because I have always told people my first pregnancy went very well.. and Trent is in the backround saying "WHAT?". haha. But usually about halfway through my 2nd trimester I start feeling like a whole new person.. and food then starts tasting REALLY GOOD ;) . Trent is convinced there is another little boy in there because boys run prodimintely in his family. I guess we will see on August 18th!

So every once and awhile I would wake up with a big, hard, belly.. and somedays it would be completely gone!! I was like, "why do I look pregnant today, but not yesterday?" So here are some pictures of my 'belly' I was getting... I asked my doctor why that happens sometimes.. because I thought it was strange, and she told me it might be from the progesterone.
My mom still is convinced I am having twins. Haha.

All I really need to know.. I learned in Kindergarten

I have always loved this.. so I thought I would post it for everyone who has never heard this.

All I really need to know about how to live and what to do and how to be I learned in kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sand pile at school. These are the things I learned:

Share everything.
Play fair.
Don't hit people.
Put things back where you found them.
Clean up your own mess.
Don't take things that aren't yours.
Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.
Wash your hands before you eat.
Flush.
Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.
Take a nap every afternoon.
When you go out in the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands and stick together. Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup: the roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.
Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup - they all die. So do we.
And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned - the biggest word of all - LOOK.

Everything you need to know is in there somewhere. The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation. Ecology and politics and equality and sane living.
Take any one of those items and extrapolate it into sophisticated adult terms and apply it to your family life or your work or government or your world and it holds true and clear and firm. Think what a better world it would be if we all - the whole world - had cookies and milk at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon and then lay down with our blankies for a nap. Or if all governments had as a basic policy to always put things back where they found them and to clean up their own mess.
And it is still true, no matter how old you are, when you go out in the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.

Fun in Oregon!

We had the great opportunity to go visit Jenni, Dave and their family in Oregon! We had so much fun! We took walks on the beach, walked through flower gardens and had great company! Not to mention great food. We had a wonderful time, and it was great seeing everyone. Jack just started walking a couple of days before we got there, so it was fun seeing him and Noah together. They even had the same shoes!

New Adventures !!

Well moving day went faster then we both expected.. Thanks to all the help of friends and family!! Especially with that piano - it's good to have strong men around! We ended up renting a Uhaul, which made the whole process much easier. We only had one big load, and then a few small ones we just did ourselves. It was sad to leave our first home behind, but onto new adventures, new friendships, and new memories!

So we have been in our new home for about a month now, and we are just absolutely loving it. It already feels like home, and I have a feeling we will be here for quite awhile. Most of the homes we have bought have been 'fixer upper' homes, and this one all we needed to do was paint. The main living room, right when you walk in, was all baby blue! I know I know, it's not a bad color... but it seems just a little weird for a living room.

So we painted almost the entire upstairs.. and now all we have left is one bedroom and the bathroom. The paint jobs aren't bad, so I am still not sure if we plan on painting them right away. One day I was taking a nap and when I woke up I found Trent painting the kitchen Forrest green! I know, a bold color to be painting without the permission of the spouse huh... But I LOVED IT! He sure knows me well, it was such a awesome surprise! And for those of you who know Trent, it was a big thing.. especially because he always tries to paint things white :) .

It's so nice living closer to work (it only takes Trent 4 minutes!), and the neighbors so far all seem very nice! We have no backyard neighbors, and we never will. The land behind our house is owned by Weber State in case they ever want to expand the Davis Campus. So it's nice because they keep it mowed and very nice. I still need to decorate our down stairs and the bathrooms.. but besides that I think we are pretty much settled. It was actually quite easy on Jack. I wasn't sure if it would be hard on him moving to a new place with a new room and everything, but he just seems as happy as ever! He is such a good little guy ~

Ok ok, so I have this really good friend of mine... she and I decided to start a bet. I had told her how baby hungry I was and that we had started 'trying'. She told me that they were thinking about it too... and I bet you can guess what the 'bet' was. It was 'who could get pregnant first' ! ha. So off we went on our merry ways, and we had decided when we were all going to get together and take pregnacy tests. Well... you know how patient I am! We ended up texting each other and wanting to take the tests sooner than we had originally planned. So we were going to take a picture with our cell phones and send it to each other. She sent me hers first... and it was was a digital test that read "postitive" Yay!! I was so excited for her. I was waiting for mine.. you know, the ones with the two lines, and only one line showed up. :( So I sent her the picture with the negative results. I have to admit, I was pretty bummed out. But it was our first month trying so I shouldn't have been so distraut. My great husband that he is gave me a huge hug and told me not to worry about it, and to wait a few days and try again. I mean, I had just barely missed my period. So I went back to the table where my test was... and I looked really really close... and I swear I saw a REALLY REALLY faint line. But maybe I just wanted it so bad that it was all in my head. 'Trying' is a lot harder than finding out by accident that's for sure!! You know all the dates to a T and it drives you crazy I swear.

But about 4 days later I decided to take another test... and this is what I saw....

YAY!!! It's still a little faint ... but DEFINATELY THERE!! We are sooo excited!! So the bet ended up being a tie after all! And we are due 1 day apart!! crazy huh? It should be fun !

Now I know that I just barely found out, and it's probably best to wait until after the first trimester to tell others... But we were just so excited, and we like to roll to the beat to a different drumb I guess. I am 6 weeks along.

Our new home!!

We finally found a home that we love!! It felt like forever looking for a house.. we wanted specific things so we were pretty picky. Trent wanted a two car garage, I wanted a master bath, we both wanted a rambler - AND we wanted it in the right neighborhood. Goodness gracious~ well anywho- we are soo excited. It is under contract right now and it will be ours on April 8th! I will get better pictures up when we move.. we still have to paint some of the walls and make it our own, but when we do I think it will be a great home for us.

So fun being 1

So a little over a week ago, Jack went in for his 1 year appointment. He weighs 27lbs and is 31 1/2 inches long! He was over the 90th percentile on everything. He is going to be a big boy! He will repeat words that you say to him, even though they sure don't sound perfect! Like glasses sounds like 'ga chise' and duck sounds like 'dak'. He sure is fun and entertaining. When we took him to the doctor, she had told me that the chicken pox vaccine was an option, and it can help them not get as bad of symptoms and sometimes even bypass chicken pox all together. Well, we decided to get it... and then a few days ago he started getting little red bumps all over him. The poor little guy even looked like he got punched in the face! I felt terrible!! They started growing and spreading all over his body... so I thought "this doesn't really look like chicken pox anymore". I called the doctor's office and they told me to put some caladryl lotion on him.. which really helped! After 2 days they finally are totally gone, and I am thinking it was an allergic reaction to something more than the chicken pox. The further along they got, the more I thought they looked more like hives than anything. So it was either something he ate, or maybe he was allergic to the vaccine... hopefully he will stay bump free for awhile though!
