Halloween!

Jack told us this Halloween that he was planning on using all the candy he got trick-or-treating and give it to other kids as they came to our door. He said he wanted to re-name the holiday, "The Day of Giving." . What a sweet kid. - Of course right after he said that, Blake chimed in, "I'm eating ALL of MY candy!" :) haha!

Jack has also turned into quite the chef. Lately he has been coming up with his own food inventions. It all started when he realized he could change the color of water with food coloring. Then a few days ago he told us he wanted frozen strawberries, banana, and blueberries mixed with milk in the blender. It made a great fruit ice cream dessert for dinner. Then just this morning he made Blake and him breakfast with bananas, yogurt and mountain berry jam. It looked quite tasty!

Blake is loving drawing everyday, and if you can tell below he doesn't even like his sandwich cut the same as everyone else. He is enjoying counting small numbers, and loves trying to get reactions out of both of his brothers. Blake still loves to cuddle up with me, and I hope that doesn't change anytime soon! The intensity of all of his conversations never ceases to amaze me. I think this kid will be passionate about anything he does.

Tyler has now learned to climb and do anything he has ever dreamed with that big bulky cast on. He even has learned to bop his brothers when they aren't being nice, or just out of the blue! Sometimes he just cuddles up next to the window with his milk and observes the world outside. This kid loves being outside. He loves being involved with everything going on around him, his size never stops him. Tyler's favorite phrase is, "No, no no no no no." But the funny thing is, that if you ask him anything in a really nice way, that kid will do anything for you.  He is such a strong, kind little boy.

All 3 of the boys have enjoyed moving our couches around, using chairs, cushions, anything, to make big fun forts and obstacle courses. This is why I am glad that a lot of our furniture and things are not expensive. I love watching them use their imaginations and truly enjoy creating things. They each have so many wonderful talents.

Now on to our Halloween fun! The boys were all skeletons! Two of the pumpkins the boys drew on the pumpkins and I carved them out. The other two Jack carved by himself in the entirety with a butter knife! No joke. That kid is determined. Haha!

We also headed over to Alpine a few days ago and had a fun Halloween carnival where they got to play lots of fun games and go on a hayride! They had hot chocolate and everyone was a winner. They even had a few hay bails so I could get them to sit and take a picture! :D

Trick-or-treating was fun, we went down the street and back (which we think was the perfect amount) and gave candy out the rest of the night. The boys had a great time. It was funny, because both Blake and Jack wanted to give out the candy... so if you happened to come by our house, you got 2 pieces! 1 piece from each of them!

Jack's Kindergarten pictures

Jack is in Ms. Larkin's Kindergarten class this year at the Leadership Learning Academy. He has continually loved going to school and learning. He is already reading some small books all by himself! Jack loves making things and making friends. I love that the school not only is a charter school, but it's close to our house (so when my car wasn't working we could still walk there!). They do a great job of keeping parent's informed of fun upcoming events, and I think we will really like this school.

Hay ride!

We headed out the Black Island Farms this October to pick out our pumpkins on a hayride. I've got to say, that place has to do pretty darn well for itself during this season!! But we always have fun picking our perfect pumpkins. :)

Jack actually pulled ALL of our pumpkins back to our car. Some of us couldn't even make it budge, and this kid didn't even complain once. He claimed it was because he's been exercising and his muscles are growing stronger every day. Jack is such an awesome helper. Love this kid.

My tough little guy

Well, my cute little Tyler bean fell off of one of our bar stools last night and broke both bones in his forearm. Poor little stinker. After he fell he just kept pointing to the middle of his arm saying 'ow!' Luckily they just put him in a splint and he fell asleep great last night.

Today we brought him into the Orthopedic doctor who put on his cast for him. Tyler is such a cool kid. He just sat on my lap with his fingers up in the finger traps and held perfectly still while they put the cast on him. He just studied the doctor and the PA the whole time... well, until they started to set it back into place (it was a little bit angulated), then he gave them the saddest grumpy face I had ever seen. They kind of joked about it, but did say that he was one of the most well behaved kids they had ever seen. Haha. It's just because he likes to observe everything around him.

He will have the cast on for 4 weeks. It's nice because it's waterproof, and I decided to pick the blue color (wish I would know what he is going to be for Halloween, that way I could have coordinated) !

Cute little guy! But no worries, it hasn't slowed him down one bit!

California- San Diego!

We started our journey off to California. We always make it a fun road trip by stopping a lot along the way at parks and fun places to eat :) The boys travel extremely well, and we actually always look forward to the road trip - it's fun having us all close together for a long period-  we talk, laugh and always have a great time! We do have a movie player in our car, but we only use it for the last hour stretch of our journey - it seems like the boys have more fun using their imaginations to keep them entertained anyway.

Gahhh... I love the ocean. The sound, the smell, the relaxing nature about all of it. It's so majestic! I spent every minute I could right next to it. Luckily the condo we stayed in was a rock throw away. It was a little cool outside the night we got there, but it warmed right up in the days to come.

We got to go to SEA WORLD!! YAY! Something to cross off my bucket list :) I have always wanted to go, and we had a fun time. The boys really seemed to enjoy watching the animals. We spent all day there - and I think we hit every place we wanted to! We packed sandwiches and ate the in the parking lot when we got hungry... they won't let you take food into the park. We thought we were really clever!

They had lots of fun play areas and shows! I even found a fabulous silking tree right in the middle. HAHA. I loved the Shark Adventure part where we got to go through the tunnel of sharks. Too bad Tyler slept through that part. His cute pointing and baby talk was quite cute throughout the entire day :) .

We had an amazing view from our condo! We also spent some time in the pool. Jack really enjoyed showing us how much he had learned in swimming classes over the summer. I didn't have the heart to tell him he kind of looked like he was drowning, but he will keep getting the hang of it! Ha! What a fun kid.

The boys enjoyed making sandcastles, and like I said before, we just enjoyed being on the beach.

And a vacation can't be complete without silking and boogie boarding!! Jack did amazing his first time ever out there! He tumbled in some waves and just bounced right back up to do it again!! It was fun watching his face light up every time he caught a wave.

And yeah... I kinda dug me a hole!! Ha, it was hard convincing Blake to get it in. hahaha.

Yay for California. I am sure we will come again! And it was so much fun being able to spend it all with the people I love the most!
